Matthew Allen
Attorney, Wage and Hour Employment LawMatthew J. Allen joined Rubenstein Law, in 2012. Mr. Allen’s practice is concentrated in employment law, and he focuses on minimum wage and overtime claims. Mr. Allen holds a Bachelor’s Degree in criminology from Florida State University in 2006. He earned his Juris Doctor degree from Florida International University College of Law. Mr. Allen served as a judicial intern for the Honorable Gill S. Freeman, Circuit Judge, in the Complex Business Litigation division of Eleventh Judicial Circuit Court for Miami-Dade County. Mr. Allen later joined Rodriguez Maritime Law Group, LLC, in Coral Gables, Florida, where he practiced maritime tort law.
Mr. Allen, a Miami native, is licensed to practice in all Florida state courts and in the Federal Court for the Southern District of Florida. He is a member of the Dade County Bar Association and the American Bar Association. Mr. Allen has been an active volunteer for DFY-IT (Drug Free Youth In Town), the drug-free education program for Miami-Dade County Schools, and is a regular volunteer and contributor to Lip Service: True Stories Out Loud, for WLRN. He is also a frequent volunteer camera assistant and docent for Matt Stock Photography, a Miami-based photographer documenting the unique history, nature, and architecture of South Florida’s national and state parks. When he isn’t practicing law or volunteering, Mr. Allen enjoys teaching the eighth and ninth grade students at Temple Beth Am’s YAD program.
Mr. Allen is an avid golfer and Miami Heat fan. He played inline hockey for the JCC in high school and represented Team Miami at the Maccabi Games in Cherry Hill, NJ in 1999 and Staten Island, New York in 2000.
